Bioassay Specialist (f/m/d) (Maternity cover) (Gdańsk)

We are looking for a Bioassay Specialist to join our Analytical Team! In this role, you will be responsible for performing routine and advanced analyses to support manufacturing process development, as well as pre- and post-commercialization testing of drug products. You will play a key part in maintaining and adapting laboratory operations to meet current quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Your responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing and interpret results during technical-scale process development and batch runs.
• Develop, qualify, validate, and transfer new and existing analytical methods for biologically active substances and biotechnological medicinal products.
• Ensure strict compliance with quality procedures, health, and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate research records in accordance with SOPs and data integrity standards.
• Prepare analytical documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs), and provide training on analytical methods and lab equipment.
• Maintain calibration status of analytical equipment and oversee laboratory maintenance.
• Participate in audits as an analytical subject matter expert and support lab readiness for regulatory inspections.
• Collaborate with internal departments (Production, Quality Control, QA, Purchasing, IT, HSE) and external contacts (equipment/reagent suppliers, auditors).
• Present research findings in Polish and/or English.
• Support in-house training of staff on analytical methods and good laboratory practices.

Our expectations: 

• Higher degree in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Medicine or related field.
• 2–5 years in analytical or quality control laboratory work, preferably in a biotechnological or pharmaceutical company.
• Hands-on experience with analytical techniques, e.g. ELISA, cell-based assays, UV/VIS, blotting, PCR.
• Familiarity with GLP, GMP, ICH, FDA, EMEA, and national guidelines.
• Good command of English (spoken and written).
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to collaborate and solve problems in a team environment.
